Trusted Voice Research Infrastructure for NGOs, Governments & Global Development Partners
VoiceInsights Impact Fund

Help more communities be heard.

Good evidence is expensive, and the organisations closest to a problem are usually the ones least able to pay for it. The Impact Fund exists to close part of that gap — supporting eligible NGOs, researchers and community organisations that cannot otherwise afford modern data collection, multilingual research tools, analytics and decision-ready reporting.

Where the Fund is today

The Impact Fund is being established. No organisation has been funded yet, and no contribution has been received through this website. We are talking to institutions and individuals who want to support it, and to organisations who would benefit, so that the first round is decided on evidence of need rather than on who heard about it first.

We would rather say that plainly than publish a figure nobody has given. When projects are supported, this page will say which, for what, and what the work produced.

Who it is for

The Fund is aimed at organisations doing work that matters and lacking the budget for the evidence it deserves.

Community organisations

Groups working directly with a population, who can reach people no external team can, and who are usually asked for evidence they have no instrument to collect.

Independent researchers

Researchers with a defensible design and no institutional platform budget, particularly where the work is multilingual.

Smaller NGOs

Organisations whose reporting obligations exceed their analytical capacity, and whose evidence currently arrives as spreadsheets nobody can audit.

What support looks like

Support is access and capability rather than cash. Depending on what an organisation needs, it may include:

Governance and transparency

Eligibility

An eligible organisation is working on a defined question, with a population it can reach and a decision the evidence would inform. Eligibility is about the work, not the organisation's size or profile.

How projects are selected

Selection weighs the strength of the research question, whether the population can be reached safely and lawfully, whether the evidence would change a decision, and whether the organisation can act on what it finds. Where a selection panel includes anybody with an interest in the applicant, that interest is declared and they take no part in the decision.

Safeguarding

Supported work is bound by the same safeguarding rules as any other research on this platform. Where a study touches a vulnerable population, that is a design constraint from the first question, not a consent form at the end. See Safeguarding.

Reporting

When a project is supported, we will publish what it was for, what was actually done and what the evidence showed — including where it showed less than hoped. An impact statement that arrives before the work does is marketing, not reporting.

Raising a concern

If you believe the Fund has been misused, or that supported work is causing harm, write to [email protected]. Concerns are read by someone outside the selection process.

What we are, legally

VoiceInsights Africa Ltd is a company registered in Tanzania. It is not a registered charity, and contributions to the Impact Fund are not represented as tax-deductible. Whether any particular contribution has a tax treatment is a question for your own advisers, and we make no claim about it.

Your information

Enquiries to the Fund are held separately from research respondent records and are never combined with them. They are read by the VoiceInsights team working on the Fund and by nobody else. See the Privacy notice.

Start a conversation

Sponsor research access

Cover platform and analysis access for organisations that cannot afford it.

Sponsor access

Support a community research project

Support a particular project, or a kind of work you care about.

Support a project

Become an Impact Partner

For institutions wanting a standing relationship with the Fund rather than a one-off contribution.

Discuss a partnership

Submitting this form does not transfer any funds and does not complete a donation. It starts a conversation: we will reply to discuss what support would look like and how it would be arranged.
