What an institution gets
One governed chain from the instrument to the publication: the instrument version a response was collected under, the consent recorded with it, the reviewer who accepted it, and the publication that resolves back to it.
What it does not do
It does not design your study, choose your sample, or generate a methodology. Those are research decisions and they stay with the principal investigator. The platform carries the design you specify and keeps the record of how it was executed.

An interview format is not a design. Key informant interviews, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions are formats within qualitative research; transcripts code against the same codebook whoever was in the room. Presenting a format as a separate module would claim a capability the system does not have.

The language a respondent speaks, the language your team works in and the language a publication ships in are three separate decisions, and the platform keeps them separate. The live state of every registered language on each of six axes is published on the website and read from the capability registry.
Evidence governance and reproducibility
Instrument versioning
A response carries the version of the instrument it was collected under, so a later revision does not silently rewrite earlier data.
Frozen membership
A saved audience freezes its membership, so a figure recomputed next month is the same figure.
Evidence lineage
A published statement resolves to the responses behind it, or the publication is refused.
Review record
Review and approval sit between collection and analysis, with the reviewer recorded.
Audit trail
Material access, review, export and disposal events remain attributable without sensitive payloads in logs.

Outputs, ethics and engagement
Research ethics
Protocol, consent, risk, vulnerable-population and ethics-review requirements remain study-specific and sit with your institution’s review board. Consent is recorded with the response, in the language it was given in. Sensitive identifiers are not requested unless a study requires them under written justification.
Applicable law
Implementations are designed to support obligations under Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 11 of 2022, alongside the applicable agreement. Where a programme falls under the EU GDPR or another regime, those obligations are assessed and documented during implementation. No independent assessment of GDPR alignment has been carried out, and none is claimed.
